Flocculant & Coagulant Dosing Pump

Dosing Pump for Flocculant & Coagulant

Flocculants and coagulants are chemicals widely used in the treatment of water for purifying drinking water and treating wastewater. They enable the removal of impurities from water by promoting the aggregation of tiny particles suspended in water into larger precipitates.

Principle of action of flocculants and coagulants

When treating water, flocculants and coagulants are added to the water by diaphragm pump, and rapid agitation allows them to interact with particles in the water:

Flocculant: A flocculant causes small suspended particles to combine into larger flocs, making them easier to settle or filter. These combined flocs can include suspended soil, sand and other microbial or organic contaminants.

Coagulants: Coagulants help in the initial stages of floc formation. They work by neutralizing charged particles in the water, causing them to bind to each other and begin to form larger aggregates.

Advantages

  • Improvement of water quality: Flocculants and coagulants help to remove impurities and suspended matter from the water, improving the clarity and quality of the water.
  • Clear purification effect: It effectively removes many tiny particles and organic substances and improves the purity of water.

Disadvantages

  • Precise operation requirements: accurate dosage control is required, otherwise the purification effect may be affected.
  • Specific treatment: For some specific pollutants or special water quality, the effect may not be obvious.

Flocculant and coagulant metering pumps are used in a variety of applications such as treating swimming pool water, drinking water and industrial wastewater.
